Human Design

The 12 Human Design profiles

Your profile is the pair of numbers in your chart, such as 3/5 or 6/2. The first number is conscious — you recognise it in yourself. The second is unconscious — other people usually see it before you do. Together they describe how you learn and how you meet the world.

The six line themes

Line 1Foundation

Investigator

Needs to know how something works before trusting it. Security comes from research, and insecurity shows up as the feeling of not having read enough yet.

Line 2Natural talent

Hermit

Carries an ability that was never studied for. Needs solitude to let that talent settle, and gets called out of it by other people who can see it.

Line 3Trial and error

Martyr

Learns through what does not work. Discoveries are made by bumping into things, so mistakes are the method rather than a sign of failure.

Line 4Network

Opportunist

Life moves through relationships. Opportunities arrive through people already known, which is why friendliness and a stable inner circle matter so much.

Line 5Practical solutions

Heretic

Gets projected on. People expect a fix, and delivering something universally practical builds reputation, while over-promising damages it.

Line 6Transition

Role Model

Lives in phases — experimenting, then withdrawing to observe, then living as an example. Wisdom accumulates and is transmitted just by being seen.
